Week 6 - Perspective

Perspective...seeing things in a different way.  Here are my attempts for this week.

 The happy party goer...

And the party pooper.  (What?! He poops at parties?!) Heidi will get this reference. ;)

Little toes.

 Nothing beats a good book!

All the blood is rushing to his head.  He's a few seconds away from passing out, the dare devil.

Week 5 - Leading Lines

The inversion that has settled over the Salt Lake Valley has reminded me why I hate January in Utah.  A dirty gray blanket of smog has been hanging overhead for the past week, making taking a pretty picture a challenge.  So I tried a few inside with my guitar.

On a relatively clear day, I shot this bridge.   The shadows from the bridge add to the leading lines.

I went back in the evening to try shooting in a softer light.

Not only was the air dirty, but Bridger himself had been playing in dirt, which added to the authentic earthy feel I was going for. ;)

My Dad had some great shots this week.  I think my favorite is this image from the inside of his barn.  The winter scene outside the window looks surreal.

This is one of my favorite views of Ontario.

I love the green pop of color from the barn in the otherwise white surroundings.

I like how the tree's reflection leads your eye up to the actual tree and back again.  Nice job, Dad!

Week 4 - Rule of Thirds

I had several idea's for this week's theme, but none of them turned out in reality as great as I had pictured in my head.  In my head they were awesome. :) As I was looking through my photos from Christmas and Thanksgiving, I came across these two images, taken at my parents' house in Oregon.  Since I tried and struck out this week, I thought photos from the recent past would still count?  Hopefully, Heidi will have mercy on me.

My Dad has decided to dust off his camera and join in the fun and I'm happy to be able to post some of his shots this week.  First up, the smiling goats.  Aren't they adorable?  Just popping their heads out to say hello.

Here's a blustery shot down the lane with Zulu, the German Shepherd. Thanks for letting me post these, Dad!

Week 3 - Window

The best window lighting in my house is in the master bathroom, which has a privacy glass that diffuses the light, making it soft and flattering.  I'm grateful for my camera's shallow depth of field, which blurs the background, so you are unable to see that Gannon is actually sitting in the bathtub. :)
