Summer Time

The boys official summer break this year was a paltry three weeks.  Just enough time to pack in all of the essentials...camping, visiting Grandma Corie, scout camp and three fun-filled days visiting with our very favorite Colorado friends.  Angie, Linnea and Ashlee and all of their kids stayed in Utah for several days and we had so much fun hiking, swimming and hanging out with them.  Hayden kept asking, "How many days do we have left?", even before our fun began, just dreading the moment when we would have to say good-bye.  We love these friends to pieces and it never ceases to amaze me that with 13 kids between the 4 of us, there never seems to be any fighting.

Bridger has always loved Sophie.  The relationship is a little one-sided, with love on his part and toleration on hers.  Hopefully in the coming years she warms up to him though, because he told me that he's going to marry Sophie. Well, Sophie AND Alia.

Not too bad going up.  A little more precarious coming down.

 Comparing muscles.

There's a reason they are such good friends.  Each boy possesses equal amounts of goofiness.

 The gang.

The girls. I love these ladies!

Kite Flyin'

Gannon had an "ABC Countdown to Summer" in his first grade class, where each day they would bring an item or do an activity that had to do with a letter.  For the letter "K", they were to bring a kite.  Since we haven't had a kite in years, ever since the time it got tangled in the tree at the park, we bought three and decided to try them out.

I forgot how much fun flying a kite can be.  Look at the smile on Gannon's face.

 Even Jeremy got into it.

With all of Bridger's running and gleeful hopping, I thought for sure his kite would bite the dust.  Surprisingly, his kite stayed up the longest and went the highest.  Maybe that's the secret to successful kite flying.
